CEFIXIME 100 MG DISPERSIBLE

DESCRIPTION

Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet is a combination of (Cefixime 100 Mg) is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, kidneys, bladder, ureter, and urethra. It is also used to treat a sexually transmitted infection called gonorrhoea. Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg) medicine kills bacteria and prevents the spread of infections.

INDICATION

• Urinary Tract Infection : Infections in any part of your urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra) are called urinary tract infections (UTIs). UTIs are caused by bacteria and, in some cases, by viruses or fungi. Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg) is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

• Gonorrhoea : Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. It is caused by unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person. Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg) is used to treat Gonorrhoea.

• Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis : Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If the infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, it is called pharyngotonsillitis. Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg) is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis.

• Acute bronchitis : Acute bronchitis is a condition in which the bronchial tubes that carry air to and from the lungs become inflamed. It causes narrowing of the airways leading to symptoms such as coughing and wheezing. Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg)  is used to treat acute bronchitis caused by bacteria.

• Acute Otitis Media : Acute Otitis media (AOM) is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum). Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg) is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria. 

MECHANISM OF ACTION 

Cefixime 100 Mg kills susceptible bacteria by blocking the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It attaches to one of the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which prevents the formation of peptidoglycan in the bacterial cell wall. This prevents biosynthesis and stops building the cell wall, which results in the end of the bacterial cell.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interactions: Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg) may interact with certain vaccines (BCG, cholera vaccine, typhoid vaccine), anticoagulant medications (warfarin), and anticonvulsant medications (carbamazepine).

Drug-Disease Interactions: Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg) may interact with disease conditions, including colitis (inflammation of the colon's inner lining), renal dysfunction, liver disease, and seizure disorders.

PRECAUTIONS

When using Cefjone-100 Dispersible Tablet (Cefixime 100 Mg), precautions include monitoring for allergic reactions, especially in patients with a history of penicillin or cephalosporin allergy. Patients with renal impairment may require dose adjustments due to potential accumulation. Watch for signs of superinfection, as cefixime can disrupt normal flora and lead to secondary infections. Ensure adequate hydration and proper administration to avoid gastrointestinal side effects.
