DESCRIPTION

Cuftec-D Syrup (Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide  10 mg +  Phenylephrine Hcl 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Meleate 2 mg) is used to treat cold and allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, coughing, itchy nose and throat, watery eyes, and stuffy nose. Alex Syrup is used as a cough syrup because it reduces the activity of the cough center in the brain and suppresses coughing. It relieves stuffy nose by constricting blood vessels in the nose. It also relieves allergy symptoms.

INDICATION

  • Dry Cough : Coughing is the body's natural way of forcefully expelling unwanted foreign matter (irritants) such as mucus, bacteria, and dust that can cause throat irritation. A dry cough is a cough that does not produce mucus. Cuftec-D Syrup (Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide  10 mg +  Phenylephrine Hcl 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Meleate 2 mg) is used to relieve coughs caused by colds or inhalation of irritants because it inhibits the cough center in the brain.

  • Stuffy Nose :  When blood vessels in the nose swell with excess fluid and mucus, the nose becomes stuffy. Cuftec-D Syrup (Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide  10 mg +  Phenylephrine Hcl 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Meleate 2 mg) is used to relieve stuffy nose and discomfort. It reduces swelling of blood vessels in the nasal passages, making breathing easier.

  • Cold :  A cold is a viral infection of the nose and throat. The condition is usually harmless, and you may feel better within two weeks. Cuftec-D Syrup (Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide  10 mg +  Phenylephrine Hcl 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Meleate 2 mg) is used to relieve cold symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, etc.

Allergic Rhinitis :  Allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction triggered by various allergens (foreign substances) such as dust and pollen. This causes inflammation (swelling) inside the nose. Symptoms include runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, etc. Cuftec-D Syrup (Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide  10 mg +  Phenylephrine Hcl 5 mg + Chlorpheniramine Meleate 2 mg) can be used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis as it reduces the effects of certain substances produced in the body that cause an allergic reaction.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide : This ingredient acts as a cough suppressant. It affects the cough center in the brain stem, thereby reducing the urge to cough. It does not address the underlying cause of the cough, but it does help reduce symptoms.

Phenylephrine Hydrochloride : Phenylephrine acts as a decongestant by stimulating alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in the smooth muscle of blood vessels in the nasal passages. This causes vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels), reducing blood flow to the nasal passages and reducing swelling and congestion.

Chlorpheniramine maleate : This is an antihistamine that blocks H1 histamine receptors. Histamine is a chemical released during an allergic reaction, and chlorpheniramine blocks its action, thereby reducing symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and runny nose.
