DESCRIPTION

J-Tec Injection (Tranexamic Acid 500 mg) is a medicine that is used in the treatment of uncontrollable bleeding conditions that are seen after tooth extraction, in menstruation, haemorrhage (the release of blood from a broken blood vessel), angioedema (painless swelling under the skin), etc. Tranexamic Acid works by slowing the blood clotting and this action prevents loss of blood. It is one of the safest medicines that are used to control bleeding.

INDICATION

  • Menorrhagia : Menorrhagia is a condition of prolonged and heavy menstrual bleeding. This is a common condition in many women but sometimes it becomes necessary to use medicines to control blood loss. J-Tec Injection (Tranexamic Acid 500 mg) is widely used to control blood loss in this condition.

Menorrhagia - What You Need to Know

  • Short-term management of hemorrhage : A haemorrhage is a condition in which blood vessels are damaged and clots are formed as a result, blood flow decreases. At the same time, blood loss or internal bleeding is high. J-Tec Injection (Tranexamic Acid 500 mg) is used to form stable clots which promote proper healing of blood vessels and reduce the risk of serious conditions.

  • Preventing blood loss during surgeries : The parenteral form of J-Tec Injection (Tranexamic Acid 500 mg) is used to prevent or control blood loss after surgeries such as adenoidectomy (a procedure used to remove adenoids-patch of tissue present up in the throat and just behind the nose), tonsillectomy (a surgical procedure used to remove tonsils in the throat), dental extractions (procedures used to remove the teeth), gynaecological surgery, thoracic and abdominal surgery.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Tranexamic Acid 500 mg works as an antifibrinolytic agent by inhibiting the activation of plasminogen to plasmin. Plasmin is an enzyme that breaks down fibrin, a crucial component of blood clots. By preventing this breakdown, tranexamic acid helps stabilize blood clots and reduces excessive bleeding. This action is particularly useful in conditions involving abnormal bleeding or excessive menstrual flow.
