DESCRIPTION
Janprox-SR Tablet (Isoxsuprine 40 mg SR) is used to treat and prevent peripheral vascular disease, a blood circulation disorder where the blood vessels outside of the heart and brain become narrowed. This happens when plaque (fat deposits) builds up in arteries that supply blood to the peripheral parts of the body like arms and legs. Janprox-SR Tablet (Isoxsuprine 40 mg SR) helps in increasing the blood flow in the blood vessels and improves blood circulation.
INDICATION
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Isoxsuprine 40 mg works primarily as a vasodilator through its selective activation of beta-2 adrenergic receptors. By stimulating these receptors, Isoxsuprine induces relaxation of smooth muscle tissues in both blood vessels and the uterus. In blood vessels, this relaxation leads to vasodilation, which reduces vascular resistance and enhances blood flow, thereby improving circulation in conditions like peripheral vascular disease. In the uterus, Isoxsuprine’s action helps to decrease uterine contractions, making it useful in managing premature labor and uterine irritability. Overall, Isoxsuprine's mechanism involves promoting smooth muscle relaxation, which contributes to better blood flow and reduced uterine tone.
