DESCRIPTION

Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 30 mg (SR) is a medicine that consists of Domperidone and Rabeprazole. Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 10 mg (SR) is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux), nausea and vomiting that may be associated with excess stomach acid production. It works by reducing the amount of acid produced by your stomach. Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 10 mg (SR) also works on your upper digestive tract to increase gastrointestinal motility, allowing the food to move more easily through the stomach.

INDICATION

• Gastroesophagal Reflux Disease : Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), also known as acid reflux, is a condition in which the stomach acid flows back into the oesophagus (food pipe) and irritates the lining of the food pipe. Symptoms may include belching (also known as burping, which is the release of excess air from the stomach through the mouth), heartburn (burning sensation in the chest), dry cough, etc. Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 30 mg (SR)is used in the treatment of GERD. Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 30 mg (SR) also provides relief from nausea and vomiting that may be associated with GERD.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 30 mg (SR) combined with Domperidone 10 mg is used to manage acid-related gastrointestinal conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with associated nausea. Rabeprazole reduces stomach acid by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the stomach lining, while Domperidone improves gastric motility and prevents nausea by blocking dopamine receptors. This combination effectively reduces acid reflux symptoms and enhances digestive function.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interactions: Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 30 mg (SR) may interact with a blood thinner (clopidogrel, warfarin), antifungal (ketoconazole, voriconazole, itraconazole, fluconazole, posaconazole), anti-HIV drug (atazanavir, amprenavir, nelfinavir), antacid (magnesium hydroxide, aluminium hydroxide, cimetidine), iron supplements, antibiotics (clarithromycin, erythromycin, ampicillin, rifampicin), heart medicine (atropine, digoxin, amiodarone), blood pressure-lowering medicines (diltiazem), anti-cancer drug (methotrexate) and anti-nausea pills (aprepitant).

Drug-Food Interactions: Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 10 mg (SR) interacts with St John's wort plant that is used as an anti-depressant. This plant may affect the working of Rodeo-D Tablet (Rabeprazole 20 mg + Domperidone 30 mg). So avoid its intake with Rodeo-D Tablet (Rabeprazole 20 mg + Domperidone 30 mg).

Drug-Disease Interactions: Rodeo-DSR Capsule (Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)+ Domperidone 30 mg (SR) should not be given in patients with C. difficile-induced colitis, liver disease, bone fractures, low Vitamin B12 (anaemia), and low magnesium (hypomagnesemia).

PRECAUTIONS

Monitor liver and kidney function, as adjustments may be necessary for those with impairments. Long-term use of Rabeprazole can lead to vitamin B12 deficiency and bone issues, so regular monitoring is recommended. Additionally, be cautious of potential drug interactions, particularly with medications affecting heart rhythm or acid levels.
