DESCRIPTION

Sucfol-O Suspension (Oxetacaine 20 mg + Sucralfate 100 mg) is a combination of Oxetacaine and Sucralfate. It is utilized to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers (excruciating bruises). Sucralfate works by shaping a defensive coating on the surface of your ulcer and makes a difference in mending. Oxetacaine produces a desensitizing impact and gives help from torment.

INDICATION

  • Gastrointestinal ulcers : Gastrointestinal ulcers are painful sores on the lining of your stomach and intestines. Symptoms may include severe upper abdominal pain, heartburn (burning sensation in your chest), vomiting, dark/tarry stools, bloating, etc. Sucfol-O Suspension (Oxetacaine 20 mg + Sucralfate 100 mg) is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

  • Sucralfate is a gastroprotective agent that works by forming a viscous, gel-like substance in the acidic environment of the stomach. This gel binds to proteins at the site of ulceration or erosion, creating a protective barrier over the mucosa. This barrier shields the ulcer from stomach acid, bile salts, and digestive enzymes, allowing it to heal.

  • Sucralfate also stimulates the production of prostaglandins and bicarbonate, which further protect the stomach lining and promote healing.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interaction : Sucfol-O Suspension (Oxetacaine 20 mg + Sucralfate 100 mg) interact with the antacid drug (aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide), anti-HIV drug (dolutegravir), vitamin D analogs (doxercalciferol, paricalcitol), antibiotic (ciprofloxacin, gemifloxacin, levofloxacin), antidiabetic (acarbose, metformin, glipizide, glimepiride, glyburide), blood thinner (warfarin).
