Telmee-Trio Tablet (Telmisartan 40 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg +  Amlodipine 5 mg) is a combination of Hydrochlorothiazide, Amlodipine and Telmisartan. It is utilized for the treatment of hypertension (tall blood weight). MECHANISM OF ACTION 

Telmisartan : Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, which is found in vascular smooth muscle and other tissues. This inhibition prevents angiotensin II from causing vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels), promoting aldosterone secretion, and increasing sodium retention. As a result, telmisartan leads to vasodilation, reduced blood pressure, and decreased workload on the heart.

Hydrochlorothiazide : Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that acts by inhibiting the sodium-chloride symporter in the distal convoluted tubule of the kidneys. This action reduces the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions, leading to increased excretion of these ions and water in the urine. The reduction in blood volume due to increased urine output contributes to a decrease in blood pressure. Additionally, hydrochlorothiazide has a direct vasodilatory effect that further helps to lower blood pressure.

Amlodipine  : Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle cells. This inhibition causes relaxation and widening of the blood vessels, reducing peripheral resistance. The resulting vasodilation improves blood flow and helps to lower blood pressure.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Telmee-Trio Tablet (Telmisartan 40 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg +  Amlodipine 5 mg) may have an interaction with medicines used to treat mood disorders (lithium), medicines used to treat heart disorders (digoxin) antidiabetic medicines (metformin), medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction (sildenafil), medicines used to lower cholesterol levels (simvastatin), ACE-inhibitor (enalapril, lisinopril, ramipril), medicines used for immunosuppression (cyclosporine), and other anti-hypertensive medicines (aliskiren).

Drug-Food Interaction: Telmee-Trio Tablet (Telmisartan 40 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg +  Amlodipine 5 mg) may interact with a multi-mineral or other herbal/ayurvedic supplements. So, if you are using any of the OTC items please tell your doctor. It is advised to limit the intake of salt in the diet.

PRECAUTION
